Lee Westwood has declared that his injury woes are behind him as he prepares to resume combat with Tiger Woods and Martin Kaymer over the world No. 1 position.

The Englishman, who is taking a break from golf due to a leg injury, is on the brink of assuming top spot in the world rankings. He will reach the summit on Monday if Kaymer finishes outside the top two at the Andalucia Masters over the weekend.

Should Westwood miss out to Kaymer, his next chance to pick up world ranking points will come at his comeback event - the World Golf Championships in Shanghai, which tees off on November 4.

"I rested my leg completely after the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and now it's the best it's felt in four months," Westwood said. "Now I'm really looking forward to coming back in China. Once I've shaken off a bit of flu, I'll be ready to practice."

Kaymer, who has won his last three tournaments, is insisting that he is not putting any pressure on himself to replace Woods as No. 1. The German is instead focusing on maintaining his advantage at the top of the Race to Dubai standings.

"Of course [world No. 1 is] one of the goals I want to achieve in my career, but at the moment I am concentrating on trying to win the Race to Dubai," Kaymer said.

Ahead of the Valderrama tournament, Alvaro Quiros has hailed Kaymer - although he insists there is nothing "spectacular" about the 25-year-old's game. "His game is not spectacular, but his putting certainly is, at least for the last two years," he said. "He is living in a sweet moment and that reflects on his demeanour."
