McDowell hunting down Kaymer

US Open champion Graeme McDowell has set his sights on hunting down Martin Kaymer in the Race to Dubai.
With just two events remaining, Kaymer leads McDowell by £324,162 in the race to top the European money list. The Ulsterman has a big chance to eat into the lead at this week's Hong Kong Open, with Kaymer electing to sit out the event in a bid to recharge his batteries for the season-ending Dubai World Championship.
McDowell has momentum on his side, having won the Andalucia Valderrama Masters two weeks ago, he finished third in the Singapore Open, and his recent run of form has given him belief that he can take the top spot.
"He was many lengths clear with a couple of fences to go but... we have a couple of furlongs left and I'm coming up the rail fast," McDowell, who has spoken of his fondness for a trip to the races, said.
"Setting out on this run, I really had my doubts about whether I could get close to him. But I had to play well as I did at Valderrama and win there, and obviously a third place last week and, you know, he has not had the best week.
"I figured if he kept playing the way he has been playing he would be uncatchable but he's given me a little chance.
"I'm making a big push towards Dubai. This week is important and next week is huge."
