Kaymer admits struggle to deal with No.1 ranking

Martin Kaymer has blamed increased media exposure for his failure to hold on to the world No.1 spot earlier this year.
The German snatched top ranking from Lee Westwood in February, but relinquished it eight weeks later - and now lies in fourth, having been overhauled by Rory McIlroy.
Now Kaymer claims that, should he return to No. 1, he would be in a better position to defend the honour.
"I definitely had a little bit less time to practice and a little less time for family and friends because I had to do a lot of media," Kaymer said on the European Tour website.
"I had a lot of different requests that I was not used to having, but my management and my family and me are trying to organise everything as well as possible.
"It was fine. It was just a matter of getting used to it and if it were to happen again I would know what to expect and it would definitely be easier for me."
Kaymer has endured a difficult season since winning in Abu Dhabi during January, with a missed cut at The Masters and just one strokeplay top ten to his name on the European Tour. He is in action this week at the Open de France in Paris.
