Choi on top after blistering round

KJ Choi jumped to the top of the AT&T National leaderboard after a blistering round of 64 at the difficult Aronimink Golf Course.
Choi's six-under par round was good enough for a seven-under total, giving him a two-shot lead over a gaggle of players at the tournament's halfway stage.
The South Korean, who claimed the prestigious Players Championship earlier in the year, started on the tenth but came home with five birdies in his final six holes on the way to the low round of the tournament so far.
That was also enough for him to claim the course record - not that he was aware of that fact.
"I didn't know, nor did anybody tell me," Choi said. " But as I kept making birdies, I noticed that the reactions of the gallery, the people were very positive, and I started feeling that I was working towards a special round.
"My putter felt good starting from the first hole, I sort of had a trust within myself that I'd be able to play a better front nine, and I was able to make five birdies. So I think that was the key."
Chris Riley (66), Charlie Wi (66) and Justin Leonard (67) are all well placed at five-under for the tournament, while Rickie Fowler is another two shots further back after a steady round of 69.
Overnight leader Adam Scott fell back into the pack after a round of 71 that puts him alongside Fowler and Joe Ogilvie at three-under. It could have been a lot worse for the Australian, but two late birdies on his back nine ensured respectability was restored.
Meanwhile, the two English players in the field endured disappointing days - although both should at least be around to contest the weekend. Defending champion Justin Rose had four bogeys and a double on the way to a round of 72 that leaves him two-over, while Brian Davis matched both those statistics as he managed to claw his way to three-over.
Those who won't be required for the weekend, however, include former PGA Tour winners Anthony Kim and Camilo Villegas.
