Vergne handed ten-place grid penalty

Jean-Eric Vergne has been handed a 10-place grid penalty for the Japanese Grand Prix after using a sixth engine component.
During qualifying Vergne used his sixth internal combustion engine (ICE) - one of the six engine components of the V6 engines allowed to be changed five times in a season. Vergne narrowly missed out on Q3 after finishing 11th - a result which saw him out-qualify team-mate Daniil Kvyat on the day Red Bull announced the Russian would be replacing Sebastian Vettel in 2015 at Vergne's expense.
According to the provisional grid Vergne will now start Sunday's race from 20th. Lotus' Pastor Maldonado will start from 22nd after incurring a similar penalty earlier in the week - though the Venezuelan will carry over a five places of his penalty over to the Russian Grand Prix.
