Webber remains upbeat after crashing out in Korea

Mark Webber's title chances took a massive blow after the Red Bull driver crashed into retirement on lap 19 of a wet Korean Grand Prix.

Lying second in the race behind team-mate Sebastian Vettel, Webber caught the kerb on the exit to turn 12 and snapped right into the barrier before sliding back across the track and collecting Nico Rosberg's Mercedes.

"Totally my fault," said Webber. "I got on the kerb on the exit to turn 12 and it was a very slow motion moment off the back of the back of that kerb so totally my mistake and today wasn't my day. It was a very long one, frustrating because I thought I had enough but in the end it wasn't enough and the wall obviously was close and obviously I wrecked Nico's race as well. I think the conditions were fine."

Although Webber looks set to drop to third in the championship standings, the popular Australian remains upbeat about his title chances.

"Absolutely. I think positions are not really important at the moment, obviously the points are the most important thing so they can change very quickly. Obviously it's my second non-finish of the year but there are still two races to go so I'll do my absolute best."
