Webber expects leading teams to emerge
Mark Webber expects "the main teams" to emerge at the front of the grid by the end of the season.
There has been some criticism that the unpredictable nature of Formula One this year is not entertaining because there's a lack of a pecking order or rivalries being built. Webber was one of those to previously question if it's good for the sport, but when asked his opinion again in Monaco he said that he didn't mind the way the championship is shaping up.
"It depends who you are (if you like it or not)," Webber said. "I think for the purists they're taking a bit of time to get used to it. Obviously nobody's got any real momentum yet in terms of results and teams, but obviously there's a few people that follow the sport that love it like this. It depends who you ask, if you want to have lots and lots of different teams being competitive - and that's the way it is at the moment - I don't think it's too bad. But let's see, I think ultimately the main teams will still do well at the end of the season."
Webber also said he is excited to drive the Monaco circuit once again, describing the venue where he won in 2010 as "amazing".
"It's an amazing venue, it's an amazing weekend. It's quite stressful for the mechanics and all the teams, obviously you guys (the media), everybody getting around - it's amazing how we manage to hold an event here in such tight confines of the principality. It's a great sporting event, one that's very popular for all of us, and I'm looking forward to driving the car. It's always great to drive here so tomorrow we can get on with it."
