Home-built F1 cars up for sale
A man in Essex is building his own Formula One cars to drive to the shops in.
Engineer Russ Bost has designed and built a series of road legal replica Formula One cars based on Toyota MR2 donor cars. Bost has designed the bodywork himself in the shape of an F1 car, complete with a removable airbox that hides a passenger seat.
He claims the car is capable of 0-60 in 3.5s, which, if true, makes it as quick as a Ferrari 458. Among his current fleet, which is for sale via his website, are cars with Red Bull and Ferrari liveries.
The Red Bull car - based on an E-reg MR2 - is currently Bost's demonstrator but can be bought for £28,495. "You may have spotted it's in Red Bull colours & has Mr Vettel's No.1 on it," Bost writes on his website. "So if you're a Seb [Vettel] or Red Bull fan that will save around £500 of decals for a start!"
More details can be found on his website www.furorecars.co.uk.
