Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent has confirmed to ESPNsoccernet that Tottenham and Birmingham City are still in talks over a last-gasp move for the Russian striker and that a deal is "70-75%" likely to happen on transfer deadline day.
Pavlyuchenko's future at White Hart Lane has been in some doubt throughout January and the signing of Eidur Gudjohnsen from Monaco has left Harry Redknapp with five strikers at his disposal.
Birmingham manager Alex McLeish claimed at the weekend he had pulled out of negotiations after failing to agree a fee with Spurs, but talks have resumed between the two clubs on transfer deadline day.
Pavlyuchenko's agent, Dr Oliver Wendt, is hopeful that a resolution will be found that will allow the Russia international to join Birmingham and secure regular first-team football.
"We are talking to Birmingham and the problem is the transfer money," Wendt told Soccernet. "Both clubs are talking about money right now and I hope they find a way and Roman will move to Birmingham.
"I hope it will be done in the next two or three hours. I think 70% it will be done. You never know, something in the last minute something might happen. It is 70-75%."
Meanwhile, veteran Blues striker Marcus Bent has left St Andrew's to join QPR on loan.
