- Texas Open, Round One
Spectacular back nine hands Jones lead in Texas

Matt Jones produced a spectacular run on the back nine to claim the lead on the opening day of the Texas Open, one shot clear of Paul Stankowski.
Jones' round of 66 at TPC San Antonio, which leaves him six-under for the tournament, was secured by shooting a 30 across the last nine holes - including a run of four birdies and an eagle between 12 and 17.
After he double-bogeyed the first, it was a remarkable turnaround for the Australian to complete his day atop the leaderboard. Jones is seeking to continue what has been a successful season to date, with four top-ten finishes recorded.
JB Holmes found himself two shots off the lead - alongside Matt Weibring - after picking up three shots on the last two holes. "I hit the ball great all day," Holmes said. "I didn't make anything. I missed two little short putts and I hit the ball so good. I should have been 5, 6-under going into the last two holes. So it was nice to feel like I salvaged that round a little bit and finished like that."
Greg Owen recovered from a double-bogey at the fourth to finish the day as the highest-placed Brit at one-under. It has not been a stellar year for Owen - just two top-25 finishes - but that could change if he continues to find such length and accuracy from the tee. The 38-year-old was in imperious form with the driver, consistently putting himself in a position to find the green during his five-birdie round.
Sergio Garcia was another who found great distance from the tee, but he was unable to press home the advantage as he struggled on the greens - averaging close to two putts per hole in a one-over round of 73.
Adam Scott looked to be in decent form as he played his way to one-under, while Ernie Els had to rely his bunker play to recover from some wayward approach shots as he shot a level-par 72. Vijay Singh sits a further shot back on one-over.
