Louis Oosthuizen has confirmed he will continue to play on the European Tour following his brilliant Open Championship triumph at St Andrews.

The South African has also predicted that England's 14-year wait for a Major winner will end soon, and he is backing Paul Casey to be the man to do it. Casey finished eight shots behind Oosthuizen on Sunday, but he was within three strokes when entering the ninth hole of the final round.

"Paul is a fantastic golfer and a great person," said Oosthuizen."He's definitely going to win a major, that's for sure."

Oosthuizen's victory, the first Major triumph of his career, now entitles him to US Tour membership. But, with only one previous European Tour title to his name after a March victory at the Open de Andalucia, he is happy to continue with his current plan.

The only change will be an appearance at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational in three weeks, followed by the USPGA Championship seven days later.

"At the moment I am playing my schedule like I would have," he said. "I think the only difference is I am in Akron now."
