Molinari takes swipe at Ryder Cup rivals

The Betting Bunker: Johnnie Walker Championship preview
Edoardo Molinari believes that he is more worthy of a Ryder Cup wildcard pick than those candidates not playing at the Johnnie Walker Championship.
The Italian, who won the Scottish Open in July, is competing at Gleneagles this week in a bid to secure one of European captain Colin Montgomerie's three wildcard selections.
Although Molinari is one of the few candidates for a pick to play in the final qualifying tournament - Paul Casey, Padraig Harrington, Luke Donald and Justin Rose are competing in America at The Barclays - he is not one of the hot favourites to be handed a spot in the team.
But Molinari, who won the World Cup for Italy alongside brother Francesco last year, is not giving up hope of selection - despite the fact that he has never competed at a Ryder Cup. "Purely on results, I think I do deserve it more," he told the Belfast Telegraph. "But experience counts a lot in the Ryder Cup.
"On my side, I would be playing with my brother Francesco and that would be a very good pairing. Colin knows it. We won the World Cup together last year and in foursomes, especially, we would be tough to beat.
"To be honest, the guys who have turned up here must want it more. Colin has said he wants people to play here this week - but I don't think he wants to do any harm to the team. He's going to pick the best players, even if they don't play here."
Meanwhile, Montgomerie is insisting that he has not made his mind up on who his wildcard picks will be. "I have not made my mind up yet, the scenario might well change," he said. "There's a few guys who, if they win, could go right into contention for places."
