Racing Metro general manager Pierre Berbizier has revealed that it is not yet known how long Juan Martin Hernandez will be out of action for after the injury-prone Argentine pulled up in Saturday's Top 14 clash with La Rochelle.
Hernandez was forced off in the 34th minute of the game at the Stade Olympique Yves-du-Manoir in Colombes and now faces an anxious wait whilst club medics assess the severity of the problem.
"He (Hernandez) was complaining about a thigh," former Italy boss Pierre Berbizier is quoted as saying by AFP. "I don't know whether it is a pull, a tear or a strained thigh. We are awaiting confirmation from the medical staff. He has maybe paid the price for playing in three successive matches. That comes at a very intense period for the players."
Hernandez joined the Sharks last year but did not feature at all for the Durban-based franchise in the 2010 Super 14 because of a back injury. He returned to France, where he formerly played with Stade Francais, this summer to link up with Racing. The mercurial fly-half was eased back into action with substitute appearances against Toulon and Clermont before being handed his first start for his new club against Castres last Saturday week.
