Wallabies draw first blood with #BeattheBoks

A ball is yet to be kicked in Australia's Rugby Championship clash with South Africa in Brisbane but the Wallabies can already lay claim to a victory.

Fox Sports' Rugby HQ show stirred things up ahead of the Suncorp Stadium showdown with a sketch featuring regulars Sean Maloney and Andrew Swain and 'Office Jannie' - their South African colleague - who is mocked for using the company toaster as a 'braai' and watching re-runs of the film Invictus, the big screen adaptation of the Springboks' 1995 Rugby World Cup triumph.

The piece formed part of Rugby HQ's latest social media campaign - #BeattheBoks - and is clearly light-hearted but has still managed to rile some in South Africa. "Oh ja, we South Africans like to braai at the office and we have accents just like that oke Matt Damon in the movie Invictus. It is stereotyping at its worst and smacks of desperation," wrote Shaun Smillie for The Star before going on to predict a comfortable win for the Boks on Saturday.

Maloney has reportedly shrugged off the comments, with a spokesman declaring: "The only thing offensive about that video is the cut of meat Jannie has on the toastie. It's clearly blade, chuck at best."
